Taking centre stage in the Auckland Viaduct Harbour is the new 195 room, 5 star, Park Hyatt Hotel.
A striking element of the hotel's facade are the bronze coloured mesh movable screens over four levels, which have been illuminated with over 1000m of LED Linear's Kalypso TC linear LED modules with 10 degree grazer lenses. These special lenses are second to none in grazing applications like this, with perfect light distribution and no striation or colour distortion.
The minimal space on the ledges in front of the screens limited the luminaire options, but the Kalypso at just 20mm wide was the perfect choice. With an IP67 rating and highly durable polyurethane encapsulation, the Kalypso can handle the demands of the salty coastal environment while bringing the amazing facade to life at night.
Elsewhere, LED Linear Xoolux Nano and VarioLED IP67 fixtures light the Porte Cochere, Pool area and covered exterior dining areas. Egoluce Zeppelin inground uplights enhance the exterior columns, while more VarioLED grazers light the seven levels of the interior atrium.
